Week 10: Blogging Part 2
Our goal is to use our blog as a means of informing residents, featuring residents, and advertising to our residents. We know that the majority of people reading our blogs are residents because our blog is found on their resident portal, where they pay their rent. When they go to pay their rent our blog is the first thing they see and we are always working to capture their attention.
On our blog we will often inform residents of what is happening around their neighborhood and what is new at the apartments. For example, we may post about all the Halloween events happening around town. We may even post about how we have renovated our pool area and it is now open for business. It is important for us to keep our residents in the loop when in comes to information.
As discussed on my first blog post, we love to feature our residents. It is important for us to show that we are more than just a big company and that we truly care for our guests and employees. We may feature a resident of the month or an employee of the month. We may even feature their pets! When we can show that we are real people with a real heart, it allows us to make a difference.
Another thing we may use our blog for is to advertise to our residents. We have many products that help our company gain additional income. For example, we recently started using smart apartment add ons in many of our units. We have been advertising on our blogs that “We Just Got Smart” and we are telling them all about how they can make their apartment smart, too. This is a great way to internally advertise for free and show off what is new at our properties.
All of these areas help our business grow because they keep our residents informed. When our residents are informed they feel like they are at home at our communities and the word will begin to spread. It is important that our word of mouth advertising increases so that more prospective residents call our apartments home.
