Week 13: Part 2
I have found that my business should be using Instagram and Facebook ads to boost business, since our Twitter following is significantly low and there is not a large amount of interaction with that site. There are many different types of Facebook ads to choose from. I have learned that in order for an ad to be effective it must be visually appealing, relevant, have an enticing value proposition, and include a call to action. The different types of Facebook ads to choose from include the right column ad, the desktop news feed, and the mobile news feed ad. There is a wide array of content that can be included in these ads in order to maintain relevance and visual appeal.
The different types of Facebook ads our company should be using are the desktop and mobile news feed ads. These provide a wide reach and will allow us to gain the attention of our prospective residents. We should be using boosted ads and invest that money in this product. The best type of ad for us would be the local or the value ad. The local ad would allow us to share unique aspects of the community and gain the attention of our prospective residents through that. The value ad would create a sense of urgency and allow our prospective residents to take control through that avenue.
Our company has also been discovering Instagram ads. These ads do have a great amount of each for us, depending on how much we want to spend. However, they do not receive a great amount of interaction. It would be important for us to only use this feature on certain ads. For instance, recently we did a boosted ad for a career fair we were holding. We made sure the reach was in a certain region and we had some really great response at the career fair. However, we did not get more likes or comments than usual. I have found that to use Instagram ads, it really depends on the campaign we want to run.
Overall, I think our company is ahead of others when it comes to utilizing social media ads. However, we still have a great amount to learn before we are using this feature to it’s full potential. With that said, we will be making improvements in the future in order to ensure that we are gaining as much as we can from these features.
