Week 15: Optimising Yourself and Data Analysis

There are many pieces of information that are important to consider when looking at Google Analytics. One piece of information I have found especially useful has been direct website clicks and evaluating the source. Using this tool I can find how many website clicks we have received from our social media sites such as Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook. This is useful information to look up on a monthly basis to consider how effective our social media is to our overall goal, to funnel people to our website for more information.

Through Google Analytics we are also able to view our top content. This is useful because it helps us see what we should produce more of and what we should stop sharing. This helps us also see how effective certain postings are so we can tangibly evaluate our progress. When we see what is least effective, we can quit posting this type of content and focusing on these areas. Therefore, we will be able to offer more attention to other topics.

Lastly, through this tool we can also see the behavior of our site visitors. We can see what our visitors are doing on our site. This allows us to make educated decisions about placement and visibility of certain items on our website. If our visitors are mainly using our website to pay their rent, we would want to be sure that particular tab is easily accessed by our visitors. If they are coming on to view our pricing, then we would want to be sure that this item is also easy to view. However, if people are not viewing our monthly newsletters and blogs, then we may want to consider cutting this area and allowing our attention to be put into something more effective.

Overall, Google Analytics is a tool that is crucial to our marketing efforts. This is an area that should be evaluated monthly in order to make educated decisions about our social media, website, and outreach goals.
